dropController

Since getting back into waterdrop photography I have used a number of various controllers – HiViz, MJKZZ, GlimpseCatcher and my current controller, the dropController, which is definitely my favourite.

I use the dropController V4 – 16 channel model because I enjoy the complexities of setting up and capturing multiple synchronized fountains and drops and this is the only controller I know of that can control 16 solenoids simultaneously. It is also the only controller I have used which is supported with firmware updates and as an added bonus the dropcontroller website has a large amount of helpful information for someone who is getting started.

The interface is via a webapp and I use an old iPad as my screen but it could be also a phone or computer – I have tried all options and they worked flawlessly. I have not used some of the options such as the “Delta” setting which allows auto incremental increases or decreases on the values but I can understand how helpful for someone having trouble getting the perfect drop collision.

I could continue to explain many of the other features but there is a vast amount of information at http://www.dropcontroller.com .
